In a light-flooded historical residence in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district, we created a unique home for a private female client, with a passion for art and design. It’s more than just a place to live – it’s a reflection of her personality, her travel memories and her dreams. Inspired by the clients time in California, her love of Mediterranean influences and her desire for both a sociable and tranquil retreat, an interior was created with the Working Title “Mediterranean pop art meets L.A. vintage”.
“Lush green plants placed on tiled cubes are reminiscent of the interior of a mid-century bungalow in the Coachella Valley.”
“In the living and dining area, a breakthrough provided more light and space. The long dining table made of onyx (Steinzeit Berlin) is ideal for long evenings with friends, while the spacious bench along the window invites you to linger over an aperitif. In the early evening, the warm sunlight bathes the room in a golden glow.”
The living room leads to the heart of the apartment: the bedroom. This room celebrates femininity, exoticism and intimacy. Almost 10 meters long, the clients dresses and much more are hidden behind a mirrored wardrobe. The bureau doubles as a dressing table, and the decadent, circular pouf is the perfect place to philosophize about the world with a friend over a glass of champagne.
“Nostalgic shades such as mustard and powder rosé are reminiscent of the elegance of a hotel suite in Palm Springs.”
“The originally small and dark bathroom was transformed into her the clients personal spa oasis thanks to a tiled platform landscape and warm, deep colors textured surfaces and black accents create exciting contrasts and break up the tubular architecture.”
Back in the hallway, the wardrobe called “Orange Room”, surprises with a carpet in coral. Mirrors meet a deep orange velvet curtain, behind which further storage space is concealed. A perforated metal coat rack powder-coated in signal orange crowns the design in a few square meters.
